I painted Aperit in a moment of defiance — a quiet rebellion against heaviness. The name comes from the Latin aperit, meaning “he opens.” And that’s exactly what this bird does: he opens his wings, his heart, the sky itself.

This is not a traditional peacock. He doesn’t perform, he doesn’t wait to be admired. He rises. His wings stretch across the painting like a declaration — of freedom, of wild beauty, of radiant power that doesn’t ask for permission.

The land below him burns with golden light. The sky answers with pinks and fire. There’s movement in everything, even the stillness. It’s a painting about becoming — about claiming your space, without fear.

Aperit is a reminder that you are allowed to shine, even if no one is watching. You are allowed to open. Again and again.

Deep into your soul

Her works delve deep into your soul. I fell in love with her paintings at first sight and decided to commission a painting from her depicting 3 elephants: mother, father, and child.
